Oslo-based Vind AI, a SaaS B2B company specializing in software solutions for the wind energy sector, has successfully raised €3M in a seed funding round led by Norrsken VC. The funding will enable Vind AI to enhance its product development and customer support, aiming to establish itself as the industry standard for wind project design. “Our overall goal is to establish Vind AI as the industry standard for wind project design as quickly as possible. To achieve this, our immediate focus is on securing partnerships with all the industry giants,” said Helene Bøhler, Co-founder and CEO of Vind AI.

AI-Driven Optimization

Vind AI sets itself apart from traditional methods by incorporating AI to model different aspects of wind projects before construction. The platform processes extensive data, including site conditions and wind data, to propose optimal turbine and cabling placements. This approach aims to make design decisions that generate more energy at a lower cost, tackling inefficiencies and missed optimization opportunities inherent in conventional methods.

“By doing so, it can suggest optimal designs, balancing factors like energy output, environmental impact, and cost. Today, Vind AI is the only software that can take all these variables into account simultaneously,” added Bøhler.

The software also allows users to test various configurations, ensuring the final project maximizes energy production. Vind AI’s integrated approach not only enhances efficiency but also reduces design time and minimizes environmental impact, making it a comprehensive solution for the wind industry.

Norrsken VC, an independent impact venture capital fund, led the seed funding round.
