Foodora, the Berlin-based food delivery platform, has introduced a new delivery service, Saver Delivery, to strengthen its position in the European market. Designed to offer a more affordable alternative, the service targets customers willing to trade quicker delivery speeds for lower costs. The option is aimed at enhancing accessibility to food delivery without sacrificing the quality of service, while simultaneously benefiting restaurants and delivery logistics.
How does Saver Delivery work?
Saver Delivery has been initially rolled out in major cities in Austria and Finland, allowing Foodora to streamline its delivery routes by bundling multiple orders. This method not only reduces operational expenses but also provides customers with savings of up to 15% compared to the Standard delivery option. Restaurants have the advantage of preparing meals more strategically, which helps manage kitchen resources efficiently without impacting the quality of food.
The company has emphasized that Saver Delivery will coexist with its existing Standard and Priority delivery options, giving users more choices to suit their preferences. Customers who prioritize faster delivery can continue to opt for the Priority service at an additional cost. The flexibility extends to restaurants, as they benefit from an increase in the volume of orders through this cost-optimized model.

Starting in December 2024, Saver Delivery has been deployed in most Austrian and Finnish cities.
