Uman, a Ghent-based AI-driven software platform for B2B sales teams, has raised €1.9M in a new funding round. Holland Capital led the investment, with participation from existing investors imec and Seeder Fund. The fresh capital injection aims to bolster Uman’s growth, particularly its international expansion. Uman’s co-founders, Charles Boutens and Sven Degroote, expressed their enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating it will enable them to enhance their platform and broaden their market reach. This funding round marks a significant step forward for Uman, as the company continues to innovate in the B2B sales sector.
In earlier news, Uman’s innovative AI solutions had already gained traction in the B2B sales industry. The company had attracted several Western European clients in IT, consultancy, and telecoms sectors. These prior developments laid the groundwork for the latest funding round. Comparatively, the new investment focuses more on scaling and international presence, marking a strategic shift from initial product development and market validation phases. This indicates a maturing business ready to tackle broader markets.
Capital Utilisation
Uman plans to use the newly secured funds to scale its international operations. The company already serves several Western European firms, including Proximus, msg global, and DPG Media. Uman aims to extend its reach beyond Belgium, targeting markets in the Netherlands and Germany initially, with ambitions to enter the US market in the future.
“We want to go to the next level and market Uman to the right audience. Not only in Belgium by the way – we also already have several customers in the Netherlands and Germany. Our focus currently remains Europe, but we definitely have the ambition to conquer the US as well,” Uman’s co-founder, Sven Degroote, stated.
The funds will also facilitate Uman’s ongoing growth and product development. Holland Capital’s investment is seen as a vote of confidence in Uman’s potential to revolutionize B2B sales through AI.
“We are thrilled to support Uman during this exciting phase. Uman’s innovative approach to sales enablement is already making waves in the industry, and we are confident that our partnership will help them reach new heights,” said Jorg van der Heijden, Partner at Holland Capital.
The AI Agent for Complex B2B Sales
Uman’s AI-driven platform is designed to tackle the challenges faced by B2B sales teams, such as complex product portfolios and high customer expectations. The software aims to streamline the preparation for sales meetings and the creation of sales materials.
“We are in the process of completely changing the way sales teams work by helping them every day to do more of what they really add value to building relationships with their customers,” Uman’s co-founders stated.
Leveraging smart data governance and generative AI, Uman provides timely and relevant sales content. The platform generates hyper-personalised pitch decks, emails, and client cases, aimed at improving sales outcomes and uncovering cross-sell opportunities. This innovative approach not only enhances conversion rates but also boosts efficiency in a challenging market environment.
The latest funding round for Uman underscores the growing importance of AI in transforming B2B sales processes. By providing sales teams with timely and relevant insights, Uman aims to help them deliver more personalized pitches without extensive manual research. As Uman expands internationally, it remains focused on enhancing its platform’s capabilities to meet the evolving needs of sales professionals. This strategic direction opens up new opportunities for the company to establish a stronger foothold in the competitive B2B market.
