Partnify, a Dutch startup based in Zwolle, has recently raised €1.8 million in funding to boost its online business platform, which aims to streamline collaboration between companies. With this financial injection, Partnify plans to expand its workforce and enhance its platform’s capabilities, particularly through artificial intelligence (AI) integration. The startup has caught the attention of various investors, including Hi inov, a European venture capital firm, marking its first investment in a Dutch enterprise. Partnify’s journey reflects the increasing need for cohesive communication and collaboration tools as businesses become more interconnected. Additional investors include Rabobank, Inovexus, Maasinvest, and previous backers from an initial €500,000 funding round in 2024, all of whom have chosen to reinvest.
How will Partnify use the new funding?
The injection of funds will enable Partnify to scale internationally, targeting markets in Germany, France, Belgium, and Sweden while also developing a new AI layer known as PAI. This technology seeks to analyze project data and communications, providing insights to enhance team productivity. PAI can detect issues such as delays or conflicting objectives, delivering practical recommendations for project management improvement. By focusing on these upgrades, Partnify aims to reduce misalignments in collaborations among small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Why is misalignment a common issue in collaborations?
Misalignment in projects involving SMEs and external experts often stems from fragmented communication and numerous unsynchronized tools. This challenge affects long-term partnerships, a critical revenue source for many businesses. CEO Jens Visser shared,
“During our time running an agency, we noticed that many companies working with external partners often became misaligned. This misalignment is the main reason why more than half of long-term partnerships fail.”
This observation underscores the necessity for tools like Partnify that centralize communication and documentation within a shared project space.
Partnify brings all communication, tasks, updates, and agreements into a single accessible dashboard, ensuring all partners have the same visibility. This setup minimizes confusion and builds trust among collaborators.
“When everyone is aligned and has access to the same information, there’s less confusion and fewer misunderstandings. That alignment builds trust,”
adds Visser, citing increased efficiency and productivity.
Since its inception, Partnify’s use has expanded significantly from 200 to over 3,200 companies. This growth highlights a shift from scattered teamwork to structured partnerships, facilitated by its platform. An example provided by Visser describes a marketing agency achieving a more organized collaboration process with its diverse clientele and subcontractors by using Partnify as a unified point of reference.
Another critical aspect is balancing user interaction as the company scales. While maintaining close relationships was feasible when Partnify was smaller, scalability brings the challenge of sustaining these connections. Nevertheless, Visser emphasized the importance of direct engagement in refining and evolving their offering.
Hi inov’s involvement illustrates the growing interest in B2B startups that simplify operational complexities. With hubs in Paris, Lyon, and Munich, Hi inov prioritizes supporting technology solutions that empower European industrial and service sectors. Partner Wolfgang Krause acknowledged Partnify’s potential, particularly in setting standards for collaboration in SMEs.
As Partnify moves forward, its effort to integrate AI into project management reflects a broader trend toward digitization in business operations. The journey of integrating comprehensive communication systems shows continuous sophistication and adaptation to the specific needs of enterprises. The focus remains on streamlining processes to optimize performance, affirming Partnify’s relevance and ambition in the sector.
